THE PROBLEM WITH EXAM PREP
Most exam prep tells you how much you've studied. None of it tells you whether you'll pass. That uncertainty gap is the real problem. And when you find out the answer on exam day, the cost of being wrong is specific.
ReadyEngine™ exists to close that gap. Your ReadyRating™ tells you when the data says go. Not when you've finished the course. When you're ready to pass.
THE REAL COST OF “LET’S SEE HOW IT GOES”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Retail Securities Exam (RSE) is a CIRO proficiency exam for candidates pursuing registration as a Registered Representative (RR). In combination with CIRE, it is the required proficiency exam for individuals who advise and trade on behalf of retail investors. The RSE focuses on client-facing responsibilities including suitability, product knowledge, disclosure requirements, and CIRO's regulatory expectations for RRs.
For the CIRE and RSE exam prep courses, you have access to the course for 12 months from the date of purchase. We recommend using your ReadyRating™ score to track your readiness and book your exam well within that window.
The RSE is required for candidates pursuing registration as a Registered Representative (RR). RRs are licensed to both trade and provide investment advice to retail clients. The RSE builds on the CIRE and cannot be attempted until CIRE is passed. If your role is Investment Representative (IR) only, the RSE may not be required. Check with your sponsoring firm to confirm which exams apply to your registration path.
An Investment Representative (IR) can execute trades for clients but cannot provide investment advice. A Registered Representative (RR) can both trade and advise. Becoming an RR requires passing both the CIRE and RSE exams. Becoming an IR requires the CIRE only.
Our full-length practice exams are built to mirror the structure, difficulty, and question style of the real CIRE exam. They're drawn from our pool of 3,500+ exam-aligned practice questions, each with detailed explanations.
With BCC CIRE Exam Prep, we recommend a ReadyRating 4 or higher and completion of 800+ practice questions for full course completion before attempting the official CIRE exam. Your ReadyRating gives you a real-time readiness signal throughout your preparation so you know when to book.
The ReadyRating™ is a live composite score from 1 to 5 that updates after every study session. At Level 5, the data says you're ready to book your exam. That's also when the Pass Guarantee applies. Reach ReadyRating Level 5 and still don't pass? We'll give you a full refund.
The score runs from 1 to 5:
Your ReadyRating™ reflects demonstrated performance across exam-aligned concepts. A single good session can't inflate it.
If you've achieved a ReadyRating Level 5 and still don't pass your RSE exam, you're covered by our Pass Guarantee — we'll give you a full refund. If you haven't yet reached Level 5, the adaptive platform will identify your remaining gaps and keep targeting them until your performance improves.
The CIRE is the foundational entry-point exam for registration as an Investment Representative (IR). It covers broad regulatory knowledge and industry fundamentals. The RSE builds on that foundation with a focus on client-facing responsibilities: suitability, KYC, product knowledge, and disclosure.
Yes. The course is 100% online, self-paced, and offered in English. Whether you're in Alberta, Ontario, BC, or anywhere else in Canada, you can access your CIRE exam prep on your own schedule.
New candidates enrol through CIRO's Enrolment Portal, where you select your exam category and pay the associated fees. Once enrolled, you schedule your exam through the Candidate Portal. Your sponsoring firm must submit your registration application to CIRO. Reach out to your firm for guidance on next steps.
