The GLQP is a separate program for entry-level general insurance licensing in Alberta, covering property and casualty insurance rather than life and health.
If you want to sell life insurance, health insurance, or segregated funds anywhere in Canada outside Quebec, start with the LLQP Common Law. If you want to practice in Quebec, start with the LLQP Civil Code, which meets AMF requirements. If you want to sell property and casualty insurance in Alberta, the GLQP is your starting point.

If you plan to practice in both jurisdictions, you'll need to complete the base course for one and the Ethics and Professional Practice module for the other.
